Chocolate Revel Bars
Makes about 60 bars.
1 c. margarine or butter
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. brown sugar
4 tsp. vanilla, divided
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick rolled oats
1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tbsp butter
Beat 1 cup butter on med-high speed for 30 seconds.
Add half the flour, the brown sugar, eggs, _2_ tsp
vanilla, and the baking soda. Beat until thoroughly
combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats. In
a medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips, milk &
2 tbsp. butter. Cook over low heat until chocolate
melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Stir in nuts and 2 tsp. vanilla.
Press 2/3 of the rolled oats mixture into the bottom
of an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. Spread
chocolate mixture over the oat mixture. Using your
fingers, dot remaining oat mixture over the chocolate.
Bake at 350 about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
(Chocolate mixture will still look moist). Cool on
