Tri Level Brownies

    First Layer:
    1 c. quick oatmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    6 Tbsp. butter
    ---
    Second Layer:
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    1 (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    1 egg
    2/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    ---
    Frosting:
    1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened
    chocolate
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. hot water
    ---
    First Layer: Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar and baking
    soda together; stir in butter. Pat in a 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake
    at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes.
    Second Layer: Combine sugar, butter and chocolate; add
    egg, beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt;
    add to chocolate mixture, alternately with milk and vanilla.
    Mix after each addition. Spread over baked layer. Bake at
    350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and frost.
    Frosting: Heat chocolate and butter over low heat.
    Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Blend in water. Cool.
