Ground Beef and Veggie Soup

    2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. onion, diced
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    2 bay leaves
    6 beef bouillon cubes
    4 c. diced potatoes
    2 c. corn
    2 qt. water
    2 qt. tomatoes or juice
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. diced celery
    2 sliced carrots
    1 can red kidney beans
    2 c. shredded cabbage
    ---
    Brown meat; stir in onions and garlic; brown 5 minutes
    more. Add other ingredients and simmer 2 hours. Add addition-
    al seasonings to taste. Add zucchini, green pepper, green
    beans, peas or other vegetables available as you wish. Makes 2
    gallons. Feeds a crowd or freezes well. Approx. 30 servings.
