Linda's Fixed-up Baked Beans
1 large can (55 oz) B&M brand baked beans.
1/2 lb (or more) chopped bacon
1 large onion, chopped (or 2 medium onions)
1/2 cup Heinz ketchup
2 Tbsp. French's prepared mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
In a chicken fryer or Dutch oven, sauté the bacon and onion until cooked and
pour off the grease. Combine all remaining ingredients in the pan and mix.
Cover and slowly simmer for 1 hour. Spoon into a casserole or shallow pan,
cover, and put it into a preheated 275-300 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes.
Remove foil, stir, and continue cooking until thickened, (approximately 20 minutes)
NOTE: Ingredients can be combined
ahead of time and baked just before serving.
Easy to double or triple for a crowd.
