Famous Potatoes

    6 Idaho potatoes (2 1/2 lb.)
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    3/4 c. water
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix

    Cut unpeeled potatoes into 1/4-inch slices. Next butter and water. 
    Add onion soup mix; layer potatoes and liquid into a 2 quart casserole. 
    Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. 
    Will hold in oven indefinitely. They are very good the next day.
