Tin Roof Sundae Dessert


2 cups choc. Oreo crumbs
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 qt. . ice cream (the one in a carton)
1/2 c. peanuts or walnuts

Combine crumbs and margarine, pack into the bottom of a 9 x 13 cake pan.  Chill for 1 hr.
 Open  ice cream  carton, and remove from side of ice cream.  Slice brick of ice cream into
slices about 3/4 inch thick.  Place slices over cookie crumb base, to cover base completely.
Quickly sprinkle with nuts and spread with cooled chocolate sauce, cover well and return to freezer.

Chocolate Sauce

2 c. powdered sugar
1 large can evaporated milk
2/3 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients expect the vanilla. Bring to a boil. Boil 8 minutes, 
stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool.
