Banana Wheat Germ Muffins

    ---
       3      c.    white or whole wheat flour
       3      c.    wheat germ
         3/4  c.  white sugar
         3/4  c.    brown sugar
       3      tsp.   baking powder
       3      tsp.   baking soda
       1      c.   vegetable oil
       1      c.  sour milk*
       3    eggs
       1      tsp.   vanilla
       3   c.   mashed --  very ripe bananas (about 6)**
    ---
    In a large bow, mix dry ingredients together well. In a blender put the milk (*to make sour milk, mix with 1 Tbsp. vinegar) **add the bananas in chunks until measure on the side have increased by 3 cups. Add the rest of the wet ingredients and blend until smooth. If you don't have a blender, mash bananas well with a forkor potato masher, then combine wet ingredients. Pour liquid into dry ingredients, mix carefully 20-25 strokes, until just mixed.  Spoon into well greased muffin tins.  Fill 3/4 full.  Bake in a preheated oven 400 deg.
    for 15 - 20 min.  Makes about 3 doz. muffins.

    NOTES : These are a very tasty muffin, freeze the extras!
