Christmas Cherry Cake


       1  c.  butter
       1 1/4  c.  fruit sugar
       4  eggs
       3  c.  flour
       1   tsp.   baking powder
         1/4  c. fine mixed peel (candied fruit cake peel)
       1 3/4  c.  red glaced cherries
       1    lemon -- rind only, grated
       1   tsp. almond flavoring
       1     pinch  salt

    Cream butter and sugar.  Beat in eggs, one at a time.  Stir in baking powder then the rest of the ingredients until well mixed.  Pour into greased and floured bundt pan.  Bake in a preheated oven 350 deg. for approximately 60 min.

       NOTES : This moist cake slices beautifully
