Orchard Country

In the Pink of Things!

Modern Trees

The Orchards are now planted with small trees, very close together.

These apple trees will not grow very tall, unlike there older relatives

below. The hills in the distance indicate what the valley would

look like without irrigation.

Country Back Roads

Miles of roads run between the orchards and the older orchards have large

mature trees, acres and acres, rows on rows, covered with apples of

all types. Spartan, Golden Delicious, MacIntosh, Red Delicious

all crisp and juicy. The apples are harvested in late September.

Cherries, apricots, peaches, plums and nectarines are also grown.

Due to the dryness of this region, crops and orchards can only be cultivated

with the aid of irrigation.
